biography
Savita Taylor has a sound comprehension of instructional design principles,
adult learning theories, and rapid e-learning tools. She has created print
and online training solutions including HTML help, user manuals, tutorials,
job aids, e-learning videos, and webinars.
Savita currently works an instructional designer, developing online training
courses for clients such as the United States Air Force, the United States
Marine Corps, and the Red Cross. For a decade, she worked as a technical
writer at a variety of companies, from a power corporation to an Internet
service provider. With this experience, she has an exceptional ability to
convey technical information in a clear and concise manner for learners.
She
continues to keep a foot in the technical communication world by teaching a
technical writing course through Fairfax County Public Schools Adult and
Community Education program. She previously taught a similar course through
Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies.
Savita
presented technical communication workshops at the 2006 and 2007 Blacks in
Government National Training Conference. Additionally, she served a two-year
term on the Southern Polytechnic State University Technical Communication
Advisory Board and has been published in Intercom, the magazine for the
Society for Technical Communication.
In May
2009, she will receive a Master of Education in Instructional Design and
Development from George Mason University. She also holds a Master of Science in
Technical and Professional Communication from Southern Polytechnic State
University and Bachelor of Textile Engineering from Georgia Tech.
